Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, secretary-general of the UGTT, Noureddine Tabboubi stated that some parties attempt to tarnish the image of the UGTT to cover their incompetence in particular with regard to the acquisition of vaccines against the coronavirus.
He affirmed that an organization that protects individual rights and freedoms like the UGTT can never put the lives of citizens at peril. Tabboubi further estimated that the controversy over the holding of the congress is “a storm in a glass of water” which aims to conceal the government’s failure in terms of managing the health crisis, adding that the decision of general lockdown has been taken for the same reasons.
