Samir Dilou: 121 deputies risk capital punishment

Samir Dilou confirmed that the 121 deputies who participated in the virtual plenary were charged within the meaning of article 72 of the Penal Code which stipulates “That is punishable by death, the author of the attack planned to change the form of government, to incite people to arm themselves against each other or to cause disorder, murder or looting on Tunisian territory”.

Speaking this Monday, April 4, 20 22 on a private radio, Dilou added that 7 out of 8 deputies invoked were heard by the counter-terrorism brigade. Moreover, Dilou believed that it was a political affair and that the deputies claimed the application of article 68 which reveals that a member of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People cannot, during his term of office, be prosecuted on a civil or criminal level, or apprehended or tried because of opinions or proposals that he says or acts that he carries out in relation to his parliamentary functions, according to his words.
