Saudi Arabia: Mohammed Ben Salmane will open first alcohol store!

Saudi Arabia is preparing to open its first liquor store in the capital Riyadh, which will serve exclusively non-Muslim diplomats.

According to the Reuters agency, customers will have to register through a mobile application, get a customs clearance code from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and respect monthly quotas for their purchases.

The move was hailed as a significant step in efforts by the kingdom, led by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to open the ultra-conservative Muslim country to tourism and business, with alcohol consumption banned under Islam.

The new store is located in the diplomatic district of Riyadh, an area where ambassadors and diplomats live , and will be “strictly reserved” for non-Muslims, details the same source.
