President Donald Trump told aides he is considering pardoning himself before he leaves the White House on January 20, the New York Times reported on Thursday quoting sources familiar with the discussion.
According to the report, the discussions took place on many occasions since November 3, when Trump lost the presidential election to Joe Biden.
No US president has ever pardoned himself, while legal scholars vary in their opinions on whether such a pardon would be recognized in court.
