The Italian Coast Guard saved 45 irregular migrants on Sunday after their boat sank near Lampedusa in Italy. Seven women and a minor were among the migrants, from Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Guinea, Liberia, Mali and Niger.
The migrants stated they had left the Tunisian coast after paying the sum of 2,000 dinars per person to participate in an illegal migration operation, Mosaïque fm reported.
