In a joint conference organized today, the director-general of competition and economic investigations at the Ministry of Commerce Houssem Eddine Touati talked about the shortage of basic goods for a few weeks. The official expressed that the strategic stocks of basic necessities cover the essentials of the Tunisian market. Remarking on the shortage of flour and semolina, Touati said that 8 million baguettes are available every day in the market.
Alerting against food waste, Touati said 900,000 baguettes are thrown away every day.
