Tunisia-Abdel Kabir: “Ras Jedir crossing border is closed on its Libyan side and receives only ambulances and Tunisians.”

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, head of the Tunisian Observatory for Rights and Liberties, Mustafa Abdel Kabir, confirmed that the Ras Jedir crossing border is closed on its Libyan side after the Libyan Minister of Interior decided to close it.

Abdel Kabir clarified that altercations took place yesterday between Libyan law enforcement forces and other Libyan military security forces affiliated with the Zuwara area, and resulted in some deaths. The decision was taken with the Zuwara force remaining at the crossing, with the law enforcement force withdrawing until a formula was reached to operate the border crossing.

Our speaker stated that the Ras Jedir crossing is open from the Tunisian side and solely receives ambulances or Tunisians desiring to return to Tunisia, and all Libyans wishing to return to Libya must go to the Dhiba Wazen crossing.
