Tunisia-Abdel Raouf Al-Saleh: “2nd batch of used buses will be received on February 2” [Statement]

Abdel Raouf Al-Saleh, President and General Manager of the Transport Company in Tunisia, stressed the hardships encountered by the transportation system, including limited equipment and delays generated by traffic congestion in the Grand Tunis region. Al-Saleh reported that the company is operating on addressing these issues by planning additional daily trips, especially in areas with high demand for transportation.

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, he admitted that these measures are insufficient, and the company is actively working on securing required spare parts for buses and metro cars to enhance fleet readiness. Further, he mentioned that the second batch of used buses is anticipated to be received on February 2, with plans for the completion of the third batch in June and July of 2024. These initiatives seek to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the public transportation system in Tunisia.
