Tunisia-Accident in Libyan oil field: Two Tunisians dead and two others missing

Five Tunisians were victims on Friday, November 5, 2021, of an accident at the Bouri offshore oil field off the Libyan coast, the management of the Libyan port declared last night.

Among the victims, there were two dead, one wounded and two other people missing. The Tunisian consulate general in Tripoli confirmed this in a press release published this Saturday, November 6.

 

It indicates the work accident at the oil well off the city of Zaouia caused the loss of two Tunisian nationals whose bodies were retrieved, while two others are still missing.

The fifth injured worker was rescued after being helicoptered and his health is stable as the search for the missing continues. The accident happened as the five employees, who were performing maintenance on a floating tank, fell.
