A “takfirist” element was apprehended by the Research and Investigation Unit of the Kairouan National Guard, stated the spokesperson for the National Guard in a press release published on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, on its Facebook page. The individual was wanted for membership in a terrorist group and due to a 48-year prison penalty.
