Tunisia-[ Audio] President Kais Saied has 10 to choose a prime minister-designate

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, constitutional law expert Salsabil Klibi, said that the resignation of the prime minister entails the resignation of the entire government and in this case, the constitution provides that the President of the Republic notifies the Speaker of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People and he, consequently, has a period of ten days to designate the person he will judge most appropriate to lead the next government after consultations with the presidents of political parties and parliamentary blocs.

The chosen person will have a month period to form a government and present it to the parliament to obtain the vote of confidence.

From there, this personality tasked by the President of the Republic will have one month to form his government and propose it to the vote of confidence of the parliament.

If after a month, the person designated by the President of the Republic fails to form a cabinet or to obtain the confidence of the Parliament, the President of the Republic can decide the dissolution of the Parliament and call for early elections.
