It should be mentioned that wave 19 made it likely to identify a “braking” effect on the acceleration of the popularity of Kaïs Saïed, the upward pace of which was reversed from January 12.

It should be recollected that the president of the republic decided, on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, on the basis of Article 72 of the Constitution, to dissolve the parliament following the plenary session of the same day which decided to revoke the exceptional measures.

Shortly before this decision, 116 MPs had met, during the morning of Wednesday, in plenary remotely, and approved a “bill”  abolishing exceptional measures and decree-laws issued since July 25, 2021.

Kais Saïed stated he took this decision to “preserve the people, the state and its institutions”. Presidential Decree No. 2002-309 of March 30, 2022, on the dissolution of parliament, was also issued on Wednesday night in the Official Journal of the Republic of Tunisia. The House of People’s Representatives thus goes from the status of “Frozen”, on July 25, to “Dissolved”.
Rached Ghannouchi: unpopular to the end
Since March 2020, Rached Ghannouchi’s unpopularity record has not been defeated. Until the end, the house speaker of the dissolved parliament will have been the complete and unbeatable record holder of unpopularity. His popularity rating is at the bottom. For this 21st wave, as for the last one, 92% of respondents are dissatisfied with its performance.

Kaïes Saïed: The popular president
Despite an additionally slight fall, the popularity of the President of the Republic is undeniable. Kaïes Saïed remains the popular president. Nevertheless, the President of the Republic loses 03 popularity points during this wave. His popularity, accordingly, goes from 63% satisfied during the 20 wave to 60% satisfied. Since wave 19, Kaïes Saïed will have amassed a loss of 08 popularity points.

Najla Bouden Romdane: A near-perfect popularity parallelism

The parallelism of popularity documented from wave 20 is confirmed. Indeed, as for Kaïs Saïed, the popularity rating of Najla Bouden Romdane is likewise encountering a slight drop in popularity: The prime minister loses 02 points of popularity as opposed to wave 20. 58% of respondents are satisfied with her performance compared to 60% during wave 20. Since wave 19, Najla Bouden Romdane will have accumulated a loss of 06 popularity points.
Lack of trust,  program and experience remain the primary reasons for dissatisfaction:
  • For Rached Ghannouchi: 84% of dissatisfied people are because they don’t trust him.

For Kaïs Saïed: 64% of people are dissatisfied because he has no program (he sails blindly).
  • For Najla Bouden Romdane: 62% of respondents are dissatisfied because she has no political experience.
