The Congress for the Republic (CPR) declared that the new decree-law promulgated by the President of the Republic Kais Saied linking to the amendment of the law on the ISIE is a new stage towards the demolition of the State of rights and institutions. The party categorically rejected the new decree-law, clarifying that it tends to falsify the following elections by undermining the independence of the ISIE and granting absolute immunity to its members.
“The CPR will not partake in elections organized by the authorities and will not recognize their results,” the statement read. It, in the same context, added that it will engage in civil and peaceful resistance to fight against the “coup d’etat”.
