COVID-19 updates:

Tunisia reported on November 1 three covid deaths and 104  new infections, taking the tally to 712.880 infections and 25250 deaths.

Mustapha Ben Ahmed brought back to his hospital bed

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique,Tahya Tounes member Mustapha Ben Ahmed stated that he left his bed at Habib Thameur Hospital last night to observe a sit-in near the administration office.

Physicians brought him back to his bed because of his deteriorating condition, he added.

Medenine: A justice executive attacked by a judge

Judicial officers and officials in Medenine maintained that their colleague Sadok Merkhi was the victim of violence by a  judge at the Court of Appeal.

The regional union of justice officials and executives has hence decided to observe a strike in all judicial bodies under the Medenine Court of Appeal until the required measures are taken against the perpetrator of the violence.

Former governor of Manouba authorized to attend his daughter’s funeral

The spokesperson for the Court of First Instance of Manouba Sondes Nouiri told the TAP agency that the examining magistrate had allowed the former governor of Manouba and current director-general to the National Oil Office Ahmed Smaoui to attend his daughter’s funeral which will take place today.

President Saied meets PM Bouden

The President of the Republic, Kais Saïed, welcomed this Tuesday, November 2, 2021, prime minister Najla Bouden.

The meeting concentrated on the general situation in the country, including socio-economic issues. In this context, the Head of State emphasised the significance of relying on the country’s resources, before looking elsewhere,

Mr Saïed, furthermore, reemphasised the necessity to opt for austerity, specifying that all citizens must know that they are affected by the policies of the State.

 

Maher Zid sentenced to four years in prison

Frozen MP  Maher Zid was convicted on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, to a four-year prison sentence by the Nabeul court of first instance.
