The Director General of Customs, Zouheir Mejri, conducted an inspection visit to the La Goulette border office, to inspect the functioning of the office and its various units.
This visit was a chance to listen to the concerns of agents and office executives, underscoring the significance of law enforcement while speeding up control procedures.
The visit also made it possible to follow customs procedures regarding the return of Tunisians living abroad, intending to provide adequate conditions upon their return to the country. The Director likewise took note of the concerns of travellers present at the port.
He inspected the progress of commercial operations at the port as well as customs clearance equipment, underlining the importance of strengthening controls and speeding up customs clearance procedures. He called for close coordination with other port authorities to ensure smooth operations.
