Tunisia-Dismantling of telephone bypass network and 6,790 chips seized

As part of the warfare against technological crimes through telecommunications networks, the National Directorate of the National Guard reported that an operation facilitated its specialized units to dismantle a telephone traffic network specialized in the diversion of international calls to local networks which operated the bypass technique.

This network of traffickers, which has caused losses to telephone operators, utilises this technique to route international calls via a local network before reaching the final recipient to bypass official telephone networks and route telephone traffic to a destination.

This involves assimilating incoming international calls to local telephone traffic, taking advantage of the fact that the local rate is lower than the international rate.

During this operation, four 4×4 cars, 6790 chips, 850 recharge cards and an amount of more than 13 thousand dinars were seized.
