A police officer sustained severe burns to the face and upper limbs during a raid on the house of an illicit liquor vendor, which was the subject of many search warrants.
Upon seizing the perpetrator, he sprayed himself with a flammable product and set his body on fire, before racing towards the police, intending to burn them with him.
One of the officers present was burned and had to be transported to Ben Arous burn hospital for treatment.
