The president of Afek Tounes party, Fadhel Abdelkefi stated that “decision-making unilaterally by the President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, is the leading cause of the low participation rate in the first round of the legislative elections”.
He told Shems FM, this Thursday, December 22, 2022 that “theoretically, the participation rate in the second round will be even lower. We must terminate the current political and electoral process. We must not organize the second round of the legislative elections. It’s a waste of time and money. ”
And to add: “The second round will take place in early February and will not finish until April, while our current concerns are concentrated on the agreement with the IMF, the budget deficit and the shortages of basic products”, Believing that the press release from the Presidency of the Republic of December 19, relating to the participation in the first round of the legislative elections, was “a form of denial”, said the speaker.
Referring to a possible bankruptcy of the State, Abdelkefi declared that Tunisia “is heading for an economic and social disaster”, calling for the establishment of a government of economic emergency of 15 ministries, through the merger departments.
The president of Afek Tounes likewise said that the postponement of the study of the Tunisia file by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was “expected”, calling it “sad”.
