The transport of commercial phosphate from Gafsa to the plants of the Chimique Tunisien group and the Tunisian-Indian fertilizer company Tifaret in Gabès and Skhira saw slight progress attaining 6.4%.
During the eight months of the current year, the Tunisian National Railway Company was able to transport 1,080,190 million tonnes, compared to 1,015,223 million tonnes during the same period in 2022, at a rate of about five trains per day on rail lines 13 and 21.
On the other hand, the Tunisian National Railway Company was able to armour 300 boxes of phosphate transport vehicles during the same period, for a full cost estimated at 4.8 million dinars, in order to improve the capacity of phosphate transport during the next period, the TAP reports.
