On this occasion, our country congratulated the Islamic Republic of Mauritania on its election to the presidency of the African Union for the year 2024.
Hachani stressed Tunisia’s desire to contribute effectively, whether upon its accession to the Peace and Security Council for the period 2022-2024 or after, to meet the present security challenges on the African continent, underscoring the necessity to adopt a participatory and multi-dimensional approach to watch developments in peace and security issues. The head of government estimated that African solutions to African problems are the key to accomplishing the goal of silencing guns by 2030.
He also voiced Tunisia’s solidarity with sister Libya, stressing in this context Tunisia’s firm position on the crisis in Libya and calling for a Libyan-Libyan solution as part of a global dialogue bringing together the various Libyan parties. based on priorities. Libya’s interest is above all considerations and safe from foreign interference.
The Prime Minister likewise highly appreciated the position of the African Union on the most important humanitarian issues and called for increased mobilization of international support to end the aggression in Palestine.
