Ghazi Karoui, the business partner and brother of one of the nominees in the presidential run-off, detained Nabil Karoui, is running for a seat in Parliament with the party Qalb Tounes in the Bizerte constituency,
In an official interview to “Tunisie Numérique” member of Nabil Karoui defence team and local politician, Imad Ben Halima positively affirmed that Ghazi Karoui can comeback to Tunisia and assume his responsibilities after taking the constitutional oath. He asserted that deputies had the freedom to uphold or forsake immunity.
Bin Halima pointed out that Ghazi Karoui is not the only deputy predicted to get parliamentary immunity others include Maher Zid and Sahbi Samara who are sentenced to 4 and 6 years respectively.
