Following the observation of a demonstration movement organized by fishermen, ferry traffic between Sfax and Kerkennah has been suspended since Thursday, September 14, 2023. The protesters blocked the entrance to the port of Sidi Youssef in Kerkennah.
They are requesting a solution to the matter of trawling on the island which has been prohibited by the Ministry of Agriculture, because it represents a danger for the marine flora. The latter stopped the activity of the ferries in both directions, Tap reports.
