On the occasion of the 8th anniversary of the promulgation of the 2014 Constitution, the Secretary-General of the Republican Party Issam Chebbi disclosed that the President of the Republic Kais Saied had paused the Constitution thanks to which he came to power.
Chebbi slammed the measures put in place by the Head of State, including the suspension of the activities of Parliament and the body for the control of the constitutionality of laws, the shut down of the seats of the independent bodies, including the INLUCC, revealing that Saied tries to take control of the judiciary.
“Kais Saied is targeting the country’s independent bodies,” he said, calling on the Head of State to invert these decisions and put an end to the state of exception.
