Lotfi Meriahi considers, in this same context, that contamination by the new coronavirus is a normal thing and that it even happens that no symptoms are detected. “I say it again as I have done since April 2020: there is no danger linked to COVID-19 in Tunisia as there is in Africa and the Arab world. Do not pay attention to the number of carriers of the virus. Instead, focus on the number of deaths. This remains limited. On the other hand, it is unfortunate that those whom we take for heroes are at the origin of the catastrophe. The deaths that have been taken are just a waste of public money, ”he adds.
