Tunisia: LTDH files complaint against senior officials of Zionist entity

During a press conference held this Thursday, January 11, the Tunisian League for Human Rights (LTDH) lodged a complaint against “senior officials of the Zionist entity” for crimes against humanity.

President of the League,Bassem Trifi  said that “the Israeli crimes perpetrated in the Gaza Strip weigh heavily on consciences,” underscoring that “denying the crime is, in itself, another crime.”

The league called on Tunisian authorities to file another complaint per international laws and the 2011 Rome Convention ratified by the Tunisian state.

Palestinian Ambassador to Tunis, Hayel Fahoum, hailed the resilience of the Palestinian people and urged the battle against any strategy aimed at enslaving minds. He welcomed the legal action initiated by the league to defend human rights against the Israeli occupation.

It is noteworthy that, following the President’s instructions, Tunisia officially presented a request to be included on the list of countries presenting oral pleadings before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague. The oral argument hearings are scheduled to start at the ICJ headquarters on February 19, 2024, and will be drafted by a national authority in international law.
