Tunisia-Mandatory quarantine: Towards the relaxation of measures for certain categories

Chairman the quarantine committee at the Ministry of Health, Mohamed Rebhi, has announced that relaxation will be utilised in the treatment of cases which, henceforth, will no longer be touched by the obligatory quarantine.

Without providing an accurate date for the application of this step, the official indicated that soon all the needed documents could be given to airport control teams without passing through the quarantine commission.

Speaking to the TAP agency, Rebhi cited the personal, family and professional exceptions that allow travellers landing in Tunisia not to go to quarantine centres, after showing off a negative PCR test that does not pass 72 hours.

The easing of measures will influence urgent health cases that demand family and ongoing medical care, and those with mental, psychological and physical disabilities.

Those with a family member in intensive care or if their state of health deteriorates seriously will similarly be exempt from quarantine in a hotel.

Also, those who present an instant summons issued by a judicial or administrative authority as well as those with urgent active missions in the economic fields, health professionals and other contributors to the fight against the Coronavirus.

People who fit the conditions to benefit from these exceptions must transmit all documents and medical records that document it, a few days before the trip, to the quarantine commission, he adds.
