The Regional Commerce Directorate of Monastir registered, during a regional economic and health control campaign, in collaboration with the security services of the districts of Monastir and Ksar Hlel, and the Regional Directorate of the Municipal Police, 18 economic violations and seized 5,549 tonnes of food and fodder.
Two people were apprehended for engaging in monopoly practices in the area of sensitive products.
The offences involved the monopolization of sensitive products, rejection to sell, illegal price increases and possession of goods of unknown origin. The seizures included 1.8 tonnes of vegetables and cereals, 2 tonnes of subsidized feed barley, 220 kg of semolina, 105 kg of couscous, 864 kg of pasta, 290 kg of fine flour and 270 kg of original rice, the quantities seized will be reinjected into the legal market, and their value will be paid into the State treasury.
