The secretary general of the section of the General Federation of Secondary Education in Tunis, Mounir Kheireddine, disclosed, this Tuesday, January 30, 2023, that the number of acts of violence targeting educators in Tunisia surpasses 5,000 cases per year.
Kheireddine considered that the Ministry of Education does not consider these cases which were registered near the school institution, as attacks, recollecting that the union structures have alerted on several occasions regarding this phenomenon and demanded the promulgation of a law to criminalize attacks against the educational framework in general.
He also noted the violence on social networks (insults, defamation, etc.), as well as the raids which were carried out in educational establishments by students and foreigners.
