Tunisia-New measures for passengers arriving from abroad

The presidency of the government declared this Wednesday, May 26, 2021, health measures regarding passengers coming from abroad based on the recommendations of the scientific committee and after the assessment of the epidemic situation.

It was accordingly decided:

– The lifting of mandatory quarantine for passengers coming from abroad from June 1, 2021, and the exemption from presenting a negative PCR test for the following cases:

  •  Passengers who have taken their complete vaccine by presenting a certificate bearing a QR Code and issued by the competent health authorities.
  • Passengers who have caught the virus for at least six weeks since the date of travel by presenting a medical certificate issued by the competent health authorities.

For the rest of passengers over 12 years of age, presentation of a negative PCR test bearing a QR Code or issued by the competent health authorities and not exceeding 72 hours. It is also important to present a certificate of honour indicating the commitment to self-quarantine for 7 days.

The government presidency specifies that control campaigns through rapid tests will proceed, emphasising that positive cases will be placed in isolation centres.

It added that the application of the old measures would remain until June 6, remarking that they would be lightened if the epidemic situation improved.
