Tunisia – Pharmacists complain about CNAM overruns

This Monday evening, the Tunisian Union of Community Pharmacists demanded that the terms of the sectoral deal between it and the National Health Insurance Fund ‘CNAM’ be respected, mentioning numerous complaints from pharmacists concerning offences and failures by the fund to comply with the agreement’s terms.

The union estimated in a press release that non-compliance with the terms of the deal would lead to a loss of confidence between the two parties, highlighting the necessity for the fund to fulfil its financial obligations towards pharmacists within contractual deadlines to maintain the pharmaceutical system.

The union confirmed that the financial transfers of pharmacists’ contributions have undergone disruptions over the last period, which has led to the loss of financial balances for the majority of pharmacists, which endangers the sustainability of the sector and the provision of medicines to citizens.
