Tunisia-PM Mechihi:Measures to limit the impact of the curfew on businesses

“The government will take a series of measures in favour of businesses to limit the fallout from the curfew decreed in areas at high risk of the spread of the coronavirus,” prime minister Hichem Mechichi said on Saturday.

During a press briefing held at the end of his visit to the operating room of the national body to fight against the coronavirus at the barracks of the National Guard in El Aouina, Mechichi considered that the exceptional decisions are taken, including the curfew, will help to curb the spread of the coronavirus in Tunisia and reduce the number of patients, which will improve care in hospitals.
According to the head of government, the decision to impose a curfew in high-risk regions was taken in coordination with the scientific council for the fight against the coronavirus, which found that night gatherings in restaurants, cafes or during ceremonies have been a significant source of contamination.
In addition, Mechichi stressed that, within the framework of the state budget for the year 2021, the health sector will benefit from the necessary financial and human resources and will be a sector of absolute priority.
