President Kais Saied said that the Tunisian people paid a heavy price for independence, and they have the right to an apology, but the form of an apology is not enough, asking that it be followed by new projects and forms of cooperation or compensation.
In an interview with France 24, he expressed that an apology can be searched through other means and not by Motions.
The President of the Republic indicated that the timing of the motion is not innocent, particularly after 60 years of independence.
He said that he is satisfied with the assistance France provided to Tunisia during his official visit, stressing the need to seek for other sources in order to be capable to meet the needs of the Tunisian people.
