Tunisia-President Kais Saied meets Libya’s Fayez al-Sarraj

President Kais Saied warmly welcomed Prime Minister in the Government of National Accord of Libya Fayez al-Sarraj at Carthage presidential palace.

The official meeting formally tackled Bilateral economic and political relationships as well as pending humanitarian concerns.During the meetingSaied and al-Sarraj properly addressed economic partnership and methods to eliminate barriers to the movement of persons and merchandise between Tunisia and Libya by land and sea and evade the closing of Ras Jedir border crossing.

Kais Saied and al-Sarraj especially addressed the imperative necessity to accurately detect a successful resolution for the Tunisian children held in Libya as well as the disappearance of Tunisian embassy staffer in Tripoli Walid Ksiksi.
Ksiksi has been missing since October 13, 2014. The key issue of Libyans who were unpermitted to access Tunisia was also discussed.

Moreover,Fathers of local reporters Sofiane Chourabi and Nadhir Ktariwho have been missing in Libya since September 2014, were received by the two officials who displayed anxiety over the destiny of the two journalists.
On the political level, the gathering positively asserted the need to unfold a peaceful solution to the Libyan crisis under the umbrella of international legitimacy which should represent the will of the Libyans themselves.

The head of state further recalled his reassertion that Libyans should remain the principal party in all discussions on the Libyan matter during his meeting with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas.
