In celebration of the 9th anniversary of the revolution, president Kais Saied decided to grant a presidential pardon for 2391 prisoners.502 of them will be discharged from prison while the others will have a reduced sentence.
In a meeting with Justice minister Mohamed Karim Jamoussi, the head of the state asserted that granting pardon should be based on objective measurement while stressing the notion of equality.
