President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Kais Saied paid on Wednesday the headquarters of the Defence Ministry.
Saied met with acting National Defence Minister Mohamed Karim Jamoussi and members of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, according to a Defence Department press release.
The visit is aimed at paying tribute to the military units, notably the Special Forces Contingent who had succeeded on Tuesday on the heights of Kasserine governorate, to shoot down two terrorists during an operation conducted in coordination with the National Guard special unit, the same source pointed out.
Saied expressed thanks to all the national army officers and non-commissioned officers, urging them to continue their mission in the same spirit of patriotism and unwavering determination, while remaining vigilant against internal and external threats, the department said.
