Tunisia-President Said stresses to Sheikh Tamim need to set up Marine line between Tunisia and Qatar

The President of the Republic, Kais Saied held a private meeting and expanded bilateral discussions with His Royal  Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, this morning, Sunday, November 15, 2020,  during which the depth of relationships between the two nations was highlighted and the joint keenness to additionally strengthen and advance them in accordance to the interest of the two brotherly peoples.

On the occurrence, the President of the State reiterated his gratitude to His Highness the Emir for the direct response of Qatar and its assistance to Tunisia in battling the Coronavirus, indicating the significance of extending cooperation between the two sides in various fields, especially economic, development, investment and trade.

 

To this end, Saied mentioned the establishment of a maritime line between the two countries to increase the volume of intra-trade exchanges. He also proposed the acceleration of the completion of the production platform in Sidi Bouzid, the holding of meetings of the Tunisian-Qatari Higher Joint Committee during the first triennium of 2021, and the enrichment of the legal framework governing relations between the two countries.

The bilateral talks also discussed the most prominent regional and international issues of common interest, particularly the situation in Libya, where Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani congratulated the President of the Republic on the success of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum held in Tunis.

It was also agreed to proceed to strengthen deliberations and coordinating positions in order to serve humanitarian causes and enhance security and stability in the world.
