Tunisia-President Saïed calls on food suppliers not to resort to monopoly

From the headquarters of the Ministry of Trade and Export Development, the President of the Republic Kaïs Saïed launched Wednesday, August 4, 2021, an appeal to food suppliers not to resort to the monopoly and to partake in the national effort to give back to citizens a dignified life. He stressed the necessity to fight against all forms of speculation and monopoly of products and goods, calling for the enforcement of prices.

Furthermore, the head of state extended his gratitude to the UTICA and its president Samir Majoul who reacted to his call and declared a drop in prices in several sectors.

He, too, affirmed that there will be no tolerance towards those who attempt to get their hands on the livelihood of Tunisians.
