Tunisian “Challenge one” satellite was launched on Monday, March 22, 2021, at 7:07 am from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan aboard the Soyuz spacecraft. The launch was broadcasted live in the presence of the President of the Republic and the Group CEO, Mohamed Frikha.
In a speech delivered on the event, the President of the Republic Kaies Saied revealed his pride in the event which reflects the ambition of Tunisia and young Tunisians to go beyond the limits of the earth and win the world. ‘. “This project, the fruit of Tunisian skills, is a lesson that proves that in the presence of a real will, we can reach the sky,” he stated. “Our real and endless wealth is that of our human capital”, he emphasised, adding that the Tunisian people and the Tunisian youth are able to surmount all the difficulties and obstacles and face all the dangers in Tunisia but also in the whole world.
“We are proud of our independence, of our past, our parents and grandparents and we are similarly proud of you young people, the pride of Tunisia, which will build the future on earth and in space”. he added.
He called his proposal for the founding of a constitutional institution for education. “This institution should preserve our achievements in the field of education as well as our education system, an significant means of moving the nation forward, far from political tensions,” he said.
