The customs services at the Ras Jedir crossing border seized an amount of 480 thousand euros well-hidden onboard an automobile bearing a foreign registration number, while it was carrying out the procedures for entering the national territory.
Passing the car through the X-ray detector indicated the presence of suspicious objects inside an airtight cache at the rear of the car, and upon further examination, the money was found inside. A report of seizure was issued to this effect, and after consultation with the public prosecutor, he ordered the referral of the case to the competent security services for further inquiry.
