Kais Saïed, President of the Republic, welcomed, this Thursday, December 9, 2021, deans Sadok Belaïd and Mohamed Salah Ben Aïssa and professor Amine Mahfoudh, professor of constitutional law at the Faculty of law and political sciences from Sousse at the palace of Carthage.
The meeting was a chance for the Head of State to clarify that the problem of Tunisia is generated by the Constitution of 2014 which demonstrated that it is no longer valid. Saïed confirmed that those who respect the people do not ask for assistance from foreign parties.
The future is only set by the Tunisian people, he said. The future cannot be constructed with insults and attacks on state institutions, said Saïed.
The President of the Republic has, moreover, confirmed that the way is now clear. Returning to the people with new mechanisms is the solution. We need a legal solution based on the will of the people and their sovereignty, said the head of state.
