Tunisia – Saïed: what is happening on certain number of beaches rises to level of a crime

President of the republic Kais Saied visited this afternoon, Saturday, April 6, 2024, in the city of Hammamet, where he cited the erosion of the beach, invaded by rising sea waters, in addition to the worsening pollution of marine conditions due to the discharge of wastewater directly into the sea.

The President of the Republic emphasised that APAL was created to conserve this strip and the maritime public domain and that what is occurring on several beaches in the governorate of Nabeul and other regions rises to the level of crime, underscoring the necessity to apply the law to everyone, and to take the required measures to put an end to this drift, which tends to erode beaches and transform marshes into landfills.

The Head of State listened to many citizens, underlining that the solution to economic, social and other conditions can only be a national solution that meets the hopes and aspirations of all citizens.
