Tunisia-Sami Tahri: Power in place is punishing UGTT

Deputy Secretary General of the Tunisian General Labor Union Sami Tahri confirmed that there is no opposition within the Central Trade Union.

Tahri added that there are parties who do not belong to the UGTT and who are leading a smear campaign against the UGTT. Speaking on the airwaves of a private radio station, he believed that the power in place is punishing the UGTT and that he has severed all relations with the latter, according to his words.

“If we had been satisfied with the declaration of July 26, 2021, we would be respected and honoured today,” he stated.
