An incident happened at “La République” primary school in the governorate of Sidi Bouzid. Part of the ceiling of a classroom collapsed, provoking a moment of panic among students and educational staff. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries to students and staff.
The regional education delegate, Nour Eddine Ghabash, told the TAP that the incident created anxiety among pupils in the third year of primary school as well as among students in neighbouring classes. In addition, a teacher felt unwell and was carried to the hospital for medical treatment.
He added that classes have been immediately halted at the school, and comprehensive repair work will be undertaken to ensure the safety of students and staff.
