The secretary general of the Water Federation under the UGTT, Houcine Cherni revealed , this Thursday, February 15, 2024, that the amount of customers’ debts to SONEDE is assessed at 760 million dinars, of which 280 million are owed by the state institutions.
The official described these figures as “alarming”, emphasising that they are unprecedented. He indicated that the company has filed numerous complaints in this context, including 1,500 in the governorate of Ben Arous following attacks on water networks or water theft, reports private radio.
