Pulmonologist Sonia Maalej affirmed on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, that tobacco causes the death of 13,000 Tunisians each year.
In a statement made on private radio, she added that 20% of diseases are generated by tobacco, like cancer. adding that “64% of our children are exposed to passive smoking”, highlighting the urgent need to give up tobacco which costs the State more than 2 billion dinars per year.
