Tour guides from various parts of the country rallied outside the headquarters of the Ministry of Tourism in Tunis on what they termed a “day of anger” to oppose the government’s disdain for their people requests, said Mehdi Hachani, president of the Tunisian Federation of Tourism Guides.
Workers in the sector, who have endured forced unemployment since March, when the coronavirus crisis began in Tunisia, were surprised by the Social Funds’ demands for unpaid contributions, stating their anger at what they called total neglect of them.
They also asked to benefit from the measures taken with regard to hotels and travel agencies.
