The Ministry of Education reported on Friday the launch of a program aimed at setting up solar panels in all schools, with a total budget of more than 100 MD.
The Ministry of Education carried out, as part of this pilot program, the installation of solar panels for the production of solar energy in 40 secondary high schools in Greater Tunis and in 15 primary schools under the regional education office in Béja, Nabeul and Tozeur.
According to the ministry, 46 educational establishments will profit from this program in its first stage, in addition to the installation of solar panels in 11 educational establishments in the governorate of Sousse, funded by the national agency for energy management.
This program, which seeks to control the costs of annual electricity consumption in educational establishments, comes at the end of a pilot experiment carried out within the framework of the national energy transition program, implemented in companies and public establishments.
