Ennahdha movement expressed its solidarity with the family of the late Abderrazek Khachnaoui, whose death shook the country after he died during the demolition of an “anarchic kiosk” by teams from the municipality of Sbeitla while he was sleeping there.
In an issued statement, the movement valued the measures taken by the prime minister to “hold accountability and open an investigation while closely following up the incident and comforting and caring for the victim’s family.”
It further expressed understanding of the demonstrations that followed the incident and asked: “all citizens to calm down and back the efforts of the security forces and the army in protecting public institutions, private property and the continuation of public services.”
