Tunisia-Tunisia wants to increase its sales of packaged olive oil

“The Minister of Agriculture urged exporters to raise the share of packaged olive oil in Tunisian olive oil exports to generate more foreign exchange revenue”, this is what highlighted the Ministry of Agriculture following a meeting held Monday with the National Commission for the organization and monitoring of the olive harvest season.

In this context, the minister was keen to highlight on this occasion that the ministry is operating to reactivate economic diplomacy through meetings with representatives of the European Union and ambassadors with a view to increasing the quota of oil exports. olives destined for the EU and to open new markets.

As a reminder, the National Oil Office reported at the end of September that Tunisia exported, from November 1, 2022, to August 31, 2023, 175,669 tons of olive oil generating revenues of 2,972 million dinars compared to 1,929 million dinars during the 2020-2021 season, an increase of 54%.
