The spokesperson for the Tunisian Red Crescent, Buthaina Qaraqba, confirmed in a statement to Tunisie Numérique that, in honour of the month of Ramadan this year, the organization has developed a special program to help wounded Palestinians and their accompanying family members who are in Tunisia for medical treatment.
Qaraqba clarified that, by the directive of the President of the Republic, these people were relocated to a hostel in the state of Nabeul to spend Ramadan under conditions that assist mitigate the trauma of their war experiences. The Red Crescent facilitated the transfer of all Palestinians who had either finished their medical treatment or were undergoing physical therapy. Coordination with treatment centres and hospitals is ongoing to guarantee the continuation of their medical care.
She remarked that almost all the wounded are now housed in the designated hostel, where special arrangements have been made to accommodate their dietary needs and observe their rituals and customs during this sacred month, with complete respect for their privacy.
